A Legacy of Justice: The Malik Jones Social Justice Institution
On April 14, 1997, Malik Jones was senselessly murdered by law enforcement in New Haven. His life was stolen, and for nearly three decades, his mother, Emma Jones, has fought tirelessly for justice—not only for Malik but for all victims of police violence.
Despite relentless efforts by law enforcement and their allies to tarnish Malik’s name and erase his mother’s pursuit of justice, we refuse to let his story be forgotten.
In the name of all those who have been lost to police violence, we stand united. We will not allow their names, their lives, or their struggles to be buried beneath injustice.

In memory of Malik and the countless others affected by police brutality, we are taking a historic step: we are reclaiming the exact location where Malik was murdered and transforming it into a place of healing, education, and empowerment.
The Malik Jones Social Justice Institution will be the first of its kind—a powerful testament to resilience, where a site of tragedy is reborn as a beacon of hope.
